Hip Hop

The Colour of Music: Hip Hop is a collectible publication I designed to explore the relationship between colour and sound, specifically how the colour blue connects to hip hop. The connection stems from the influence of blues and jazz, genres rooted in emotional storytelling, which laid much of the groundwork for hip hop's development.

To complement the book, I created a vinyl record featuring eight of the ‘blue’ tracks mentioned throughout the publication, offering a physical and auditory extension of the concept. This piece was part of a broader series titled R.G.B., where I also explored the link between green and folk music, and red within rock - each volume examining how colour can shape and reflect the emotional core of a genre.
