The State of Unbalance.

For my final university project, Understanding the Misunderstood, I developed a brand identity for an exhibition celebrating bipolar creativity. The project aimed to dispel common myths surrounding bipolar disorder while highlighting the heightened creativity often experienced during manic or hypomanic episodes. I designed a visual identity using wonky typography and balancing abstract shapes to reflect the contrasting emotional states associated with the condition - like a seesaw between mania and depression.

Central to the concept was the idea of “euthymia,” a state of calm and emotional balance between episodes. I intentionally leaned into this sense of equilibrium in the design, creating moments of clarity and stillness amid the visual tension.
